About Me

Smiling athlete in green sportswear with a cross necklace.

I’m Cailin Bloom, a Division I women’s soccer player who knows what it feels like to have the game taken away from you. I started my journey playing soccer for the University of California, Berkeley.

After tearing my ACL, I thought the hardest part would be getting back. But just as I was returning a year later, I tore my meniscus in the same knee, forcing me into another twelve months of recovery. Then, only six months after finally returning to play, I hyperextended my knee and had to undergo a meniscectomy.

Three years of injuries tested everything—my body, my mindset, and my identity.

But through it all, I kept going. Today, I’m playing at the University of Oregon while completing a master’s degree in advertising and brand responsibility. Having completed a full, healthy season—stronger, more grateful, and more grounded than ever.

This book was created from that journey—not just the physical recovery, but the mental and emotional battles that come with it.
